Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information PixlReady (“we”, “us”, or the “Service”) does and does not collect when you use this website, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Images and files you process

All image tools — compression, conversion, resizing, background removal, editing, PDF conversion, ID-photo layout and the rest — run entirely in your browser using built-in web technologies such as Canvas and WebAssembly.

• Your images are read and processed on your device; they are not transmitted over the network to us.
• We do not upload, copy, back up, view, store or sell your images or PDFs.
• You can verify this by turning off your internet connection after the page loads — most tools continue to work fully offline.
• Output files are generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device.

On-device AI features

Some tools, such as background removal and the ID-photo background change, use on-device machine learning. The first time you use such a tool your browser downloads small open-source models (a person/background segmentation model, about 244 KB, and for the ID-photo tool a compact face-detection model) together with a WebAssembly runtime, all served directly from our own domain and fetched once then cached by your browser. Every part of the inference then runs locally inside your browser on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to any server for AI processing—we cannot see, retain, or reconstruct them. The segmentation model only separates a foreground person from the background; the face detector returns just a bounding box, a few landmarks and head tilt so the ID photo can be auto-framed. Neither identifies who you are, and there is no faceprint, emotion detection, biometric identification or face recognition. The downloaded models and runtime are ordinary static files cached like other website assets and contain no tracking.

AI photo upscaler (Beta)

The AI upscaler enhances the resolution and detail of your photos using a neural model. On first use your browser downloads the model and its inference runtime from our content storage (a Cloudflare R2 bucket served over a read-only, Cross-Origin enabled URL); they are cached by your browser and reused on later visits. Once downloaded, every upscaling run happens locally in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted to, or stored on any server — the input image and the output image both stay on your device, and we cannot see, retain, or reconstruct them. The high-resolution (HD) upscaling tier is provided free of charge with no account and no paywall.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, photos, documents, or the content of the files you process. We never have access to that content because it never leaves your browser.

3. Information collected automatically

Like nearly all websites, basic technical data may be processed in order to operate and secure the site, such as approximate (country-level) location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages visited. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (for example the analytics provided by our hosting and CDN provider) that report aggregate traffic without identifying individual visitors.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to remember preferences (such as language and tool settings) and, for some tools, a short local history. This data stays on your device, is not sent to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings. The Service works without it.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense and partners)

We may display ads served by Google and other third-party advertising networks to keep the tools free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Anonymous usage telemetry. We send a small, anonymous event to our own /api/event endpoint when you use a tool. It records only the event type, the tool name, the output format and your country (derived from IP). It does not store your IP address, cookies, file names or the content of your images.

• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. We currently display Google AdSense to all visitors regardless of region; we do not yet show a region-specific consent banner. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you can block third-party cookies in your browser, use a content blocker, or opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings and youronlinechoices.eu. An official consent-management banner is being prepared.
• You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK).
• Advertising cookies are governed by each third party’s own privacy policy; they do not give anyone access to the images you process locally.

Affiliate links and partner tracking. Some pages on PixlReady contain affiliate links to third-party products and services (for example design platforms, stock media, and printing services). If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase or sign up, the third party may identify that you arrived from PixlReady through a tracking cookie or URL parameter, and we may receive a commission. These links are marked as sponsored (rel="sponsored nofollow"). Affiliate cookies are set and controlled by the respective third parties and their affiliate networks (such as Impact or CJ Affiliate), and are subject to their own privacy policies. We do not share your uploaded images or personal files with these partners; the referral only conveys that a purchase/sign-up originated from our site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Participation in these programs does not change our recommendations, which are based on relevance and usefulness.

6. Third-party services and links

The Service is delivered through hosting and content-delivery providers (such as Cloudflare) that transmit the pages to your browser. Their handling of standard connection data is governed by their own policies. The site may contain links to third-party websites we do not control; we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

7. Your privacy rights

European Economic Area / UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold accounts or the content of your files, most of this data simply does not exist on our side; you can clear local data directly in your browser.

California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of any sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The tools process images locally and require no personal information.

9. Data retention and security

Because your files are processed locally and never uploaded, there is no server-side copy for us to retain or secure. The site is served over HTTPS/TLS. Aggregate analytics data is retained only as long as needed to operate the Service.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page.
